LC work to enhance industrial cooperation
2016-08-08

Technology Transfer and Open Innovation Consultancies work to enhance industrial cooperation between Europe and Japan.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE. Szeged, Hungary ~ Boston, MA ~ Tokyo, Japan. 8th August 2016. An international consortium of technology commercialization support companies headed by LC Innoconsult International (Laser Consult Ltd.) in collaboration with Primary Care Innovation Consulting and Japan Technology Group has been awarded a contract by EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation, Tokyo, Japan to find and assess industrial technologies developed in countries of European Union which have the potential to become strong candidates for future partnering, transfer or licensing in Japan. The project will result in a comprehensive public report to be incorporated into a broader framework of EU-Japan industrial dialogue. A particular focus will be on technologies with “lower” international exposure as well as ones originating from the relatively new members of the European Union.

Members of the winning consortium demonstrated unique combination of skills and experience in technology commercialization across countries and continents. They have also worked together on multiple projects in the past and have an unmatchable network of regional technology developers.

“We’re excited to be scouting new technologies in Europe,” said Dr Eugene Buff, Founder and President of Primary Care Innovation Consulting. “I’ve been privileged to work closely with many large and mid-size companies in Japan over the years. This new effort will build on that previous close engagements and allow us to build new connections and make valuable recommendations.” In addition to scouting for new technologies, Primary Care Innovation Consulting provides commercialization assistance, advice on innovation strategy, and assists client companies through deal negotiations.

Dr Péter Mogyorósi, CEO of LC Innoconsult International, said, “LC Innoconsult has been working intensively with several Far Eastern countries including China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore for almost 10 years now and also knows the European Technology Transfer environment very well thanks to its intensive European activity. This is a very prestigious opportunity in our company’s life, as it strengthens our relationship further not just with the European technology intensive companies and R&D organizations, but also with the Far East, especially Japan. This cooperation also helps us to understand more deeply the demands on both sides.“

As the two companies will take the lead in identification and prescreening technologies of interest, the third partner, Japan Technology Group will be responsible for assessing the match between the best candidates and needs and specifics of the Japanese market.

The final findings will be presented to EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation by the end of the calendar year and will outline up to three best candidate technologies from each of the EU-member country.
